Thanks to funding from the Lightfoot Foundation, Trout Unlimited's Embrace A Stream program and the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation, a 1/4 mile of Big Creek and a 1/4 mile of Little Creek in the Little Salmon River drainage have improved riparian areas. Council Summer Work Crew students helped plant hundreds of shrubs and the MOSS WOWS program assisted with watering this summer. The program is on private land and will be expanded this coming year to help improve even more miles of stream health.
